RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Minimum 3 years of neuro intensive care unit experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Must have NIHSS certification in hand to be considered
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS
• Must be flexible with weekend requirements - able to work 50% of weekends in contract
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Staffing ratios: 1:2-3 patients (days/nights 1:2, weekends 1:2-3)
• Floating required 100% - may float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within hospital or affiliate hospitals
• May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities with provided training
• Teaching facility - must agree to possibility of precepting and/or having students shadow
• Call-in policy requires makeup shifts or contract extension
• Skills required: ICP monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV starts, ventilator management, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Care for neuro critical care patients as well as medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patients
• Patient population: adults and geriatrics
• Indiana/Compact license required in hand or fingerprint application submitted
• 18 months minimum experience required
• 2 supervisor references required
• Local Indiana residents not accepted for this position
