RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule includes weekdays and some weekends
• Patient ratio typically 1:4, may flex to 1:5 in emergencies
• 13-week contract with possible extension
• Blocked schedules considered for weekends only (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Required certifications: BCLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Skills required: IV start and telemetry monitoring
• Must have 1.5-2+ years nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year MS/Tele experience and 2 years Stepdown experience required
• Must be able to read cardiac strips
• Experience with Cerner EMR system required
• Dress code: burgundy and/or white scrubs (not provided)
• 8 hours of orientation required
• Average 8 hours of non-billable modules to be completed prior to start
• Holiday requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Care for patients primarily with cardiac conditions, post-cardiac surgery, and medical/surgical patients

Facility:

This medical center features a 36-bed Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit that provides intermediate-level care for patients requiring closer monitoring than general medical floors. The facility maintains a daily census of 34 patients and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The unit specializes in caring for cardiac patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology procedures, as well as general medical/surgical patients.
