RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work on 3 North medical-surgical unit specializing in post-operative care of colorectal surgery patients
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred
• BCLS certification required
• Patient ratios: Days 4-6 patients, Nights 5-7 patients, Weekends 5-7 patients
• Care for adult and geriatric patients
• Must be fit-tested for N95 mask or trained on PAPR device for negative-airflow room patients
• Floating required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within hospital or affiliate hospitals
• Refusal to float may result in contract termination
• Work every other weekend per contract with possible consecutive weekends based on operational needs
• May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities with training and resources provided
• Expected to precept students and new graduates
• Must agree to make up call-in shifts during pay period or at end of contract
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Skills include: bowel obstruction care, central line blood draw, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, heparin and insulin administration, isolation precautions, PCA, IV management, surgical drains, wound care/wound vac, and trauma care
• First time travelers accepted
