RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in NICU with patient ratios of 1:3 for all shifts
• Float to mother baby and pediatrics units as needed
• Every other weekend coverage required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Self-scheduling system
• Care for neonates and infants with average daily census of 30 patients
• Work with 46-bed unit providing NICU II, III, and IV level care
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must have 2 years NICU experience for previous travelers or 3 years NICU experience for first-time travelers
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• Skills include administration of blood products, bubble CPAP, central line blood draws, conscious sedation, developmental care, high flow nasal cannula, neonatal dosage calculations, and umbilical catheter management
• Work with special equipment including oscillator, jet ventilator, bubble CPAP, HFNC, and transcutaneous CO2 monitoring
• Assist with procedures including umbilical lines, lumbar puncture, PICC placement, and intubation
• Treat patient diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, TTN, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, and neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome
• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• Louisiana or compact state license required upon submission
• Emergency team assignment possible during emergency events with expectation to remain at facility

The unit provides interdisciplinary support services including respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy support, ensuring comprehensive care for the most vulnerable patients.
