RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Provide nursing care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• 1:2 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• 36 or 48 contracted hours per week available
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• CVICU experience preferred
• May float to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED to care for admitted patients, PACU to care for admitted patients
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Dress code: Black scrubs
• Charting system: Cerner
• 72-hour orientation required
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CABG, Aortic Aneurysm repair/dissection repair, Fem Pop Bypass, Pulmonary Embolism, Cardiac Arrest, Endovascular repair, Heart failure, MODS, and Sepsis
• Perform specialized procedures including Post-Op Open Hearts, Bedside tach/peg, Bedside surgical procedures, CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, SWANNs, ART lines, CVCs, Chest tubes, Foley insertion, and NG Tubes
• Work with specialized equipment including CRRT, Hemosphere, Bladerscanner, Cortrak, Ultrasound, Phillips monitors, Impella, IABP, ECMO, ZOLL, Dopplers, Glidescope, Pupilometer, Blanketrol, Arctic Sun, Belmont, and BairHugger
• No locals within 100-mile radius accepted
• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
• Contract minimum of 10 weeks required

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 554 total staffed beds. The facility includes a children's hospital and provides comprehensive short-term acute care services. The cardiovascular intensive care unit features 12 beds and offers extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. The facility maintains certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and provides advanced cardiac care including heart transplant services.
