RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts with 1:6 patient ratios
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend requirement
• 13-week contract duration
• 36-hour unit orientation required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Navy scrubs required
• Floating required to other Med Surg/Tele areas and may include COVID care units
• Frequent floating may be required based on census needs
• Must make up any called-in shifts the same week or at end of contract
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week
• Required certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience with 1 year direct Med Surg experience required
• Must have at least 2 successful travel contracts (no first-time travelers)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Care for stroke patients, neurosurgery patients, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas
• Work with 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) with specialized training
• Utilize PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a specialized neuroscience unit with a 50-patient daily census and 55 beds. The facility features a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and operates with advanced medical equipment and monitoring systems to support complex neurological conditions.
