RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts, weekdays with some weekends
• Maintain typical 1:4 patient ratio, may flex to 1:5 in emergency situations
• 13-week contract with possible extension
• Minimum 1.5-2+ years of RN experience required
• Must have 1 year of medical surgical/telemetry experience and 2 years of stepdown experience
• Required certifications: BCLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Must be proficient with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Must be able to read cardiac rhythm strips
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, and various drips
• Dress code requires burgundy and/or white scrubs (not provided)
• Work with Cerner electronic medical record system
• 8 hours of orientation provided
• Blocked schedules considered for weekend blocks only (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon)
• Holiday requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
• Unit supports 36 beds with a daily census of 34 patients
• Care for adults and geriatric patients, primarily cardiac cases including post-surgical and interventional cardiology patients

Facility:

This medical center features a 36-bed stepdown/immediate care unit that provides intermediate level care for patients requiring more monitoring than general medical-surgical floors but less intensive care than ICU settings. The facility specializes in cardiac care and serves patients recovering from cardiac surgeries and interventional procedures, as well as general medical-surgical patients. The unit maintains variable acuity levels and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
