RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• CVICU experience preferred with 2 years of nursing experience required
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
• Weekend coverage as needed
• Guaranteed 36 or 48 contracted hours per week with facility allowed to call off 3 times throughout 13-week assignment
• May float to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED to care for admitted patients, and PACU to care for admitted patients
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• No on-call requirements
• Scrub color: Black
• Charting system: Cerner
• 72-hour orientation period
• Must pass Arrhythmia Competence Exam within 4 days of signing (2 attempts allowed)
• Care for patients with CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, heart failure, and sepsis
• Perform post-op open heart care, bedside procedures, CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella management
• Work with specialized equipment including Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines, CVCs, chest tubes
• No locals within 100-mile radius accepted
• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
• Must have valid non-local driver's license or transportation plan
• New contracts must be minimum 10 weeks
• Overtime requires pre-approval and is rarely granted

This is a Level I trauma center and teaching hospital that serves as a comprehensive medical facility with 554 staffed beds. The facility includes a children's hospital and provides short-term acute care services. As a certified comprehensive stroke center, it offers advanced cardiac and cardiovascular services with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and operates a 12-bed CVICU with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
