RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating required to sister ICCU unit as needed
• 13-week contract length
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, no RTO during first week due to orientation
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, accepts first-time travelers
• Must have strong drip experience and arterial line management
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Experience required with PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skills needed: IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC line management, heparin protocols
• Must be comfortable with chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management
• Experience with vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine
• Work with Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management
• Scrubs: Navy, White, or combination of the two
• Hospital orientation required with daily classes during first week
• 8-10 hours of non-billable modules required pre-start and annually
• Care for post-rapid response patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, post-operative patients
