RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Patient ratios of 2:1 (may flex up to 3:1 during high census)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Float requirement within hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• No call requirement
• Minimum 2 years of neuro ICU experience required (no exceptions)
• Travel experience required - first-time travelers not accepted
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Navy blue and white scrubs required
• 24-hour orientation (2 days or 2 nights)
• Work with comprehensive stroke center patient population including strokes, craniotomies, and neurosurgical patients
• Must be comfortable with ventilators, IV starts, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, and lumbar drain experience
• Experience with specialized equipment including EVD, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
• Use Epic charting system with Pyxis medication dispensing
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week
• Must complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• North Carolina or compact license required
