RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 13-week assignment starting ASAP
• Day shift Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required with no exceptions
• Must be proficient in Orthopedics (total joints), general surgery, and OB procedures
• On-call requirements every 5th or 6th weekend and one day during the week
• Patient ratio of 1:1 across all shifts
• Work with patient age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Handle daily census of 12 patients with 12 visits per day in 5 operating rooms
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (preferred)
• Kansas nursing license required at time of submission
• Must have experience with orthopedics, GYN, podiatry, general surgery, endoscopy, and labor and delivery C-sections
• Work with specialized equipment including Hana Table
• Procedures include lobe resection, lung resection, thoracotomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repairs, laparoscopic procedures, thyroidectomy, arthroscopy, fracture reductions, laminectomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacements, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and C-sections
• 8 hours of orientation provided
• Two pre-approved time off requests allowed
• May float to different units as needed
• Complete approximately 1 hour of non-billable modules pre-start
