Description

RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work night shifts on a Medical Surgical/Oncology unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• 13-26 week contract assignments available
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must have minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an inpatient setting
• Oncology certification required - must be able to administer chemotherapy if needed
• Required certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• 24-hour orientation (2 shifts)
• Navy blue and white scrubs required
• Call requirement if called off on a prescheduled shift
• Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatient holding
• Care for patients with general medical-surgical diagnoses and oncology histories
• Administer chemotherapy/biotherapy via IV, PO, or injection
• Skills required: Med/Surg experience, colostomy care, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, PICC line management, heparin/insulin administration, surgical drains, chest tubes, wound care/wound vac
• Work with various patient diagnoses including AKI, sepsis, cancer, septic shock, malignant neoplasms, diabetic foot ulcers
• Daily census of 42 patients
• Must be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and may be required to work during catastrophic events
• Attendance at monthly staff meetings required
• Use PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems

The facility provides advanced oncology services including chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The medical center maintains high standards for patient care and emergency preparedness, requiring staff participation in crisis response teams.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
