RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend schedule with holidays as needed
• Patient ratio of 5:1 across all shifts
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Floating required as needed to other units or Cone Health campuses
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must pass mandatory EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• Focus on cardiac patients including congestive heart failure, rule-out myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, and arrhythmias
• Secondary focus on respiratory problems such as COPD and pneumonia
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including heart failure, respiratory failure, NSTEMI, COPD, and pneumonia
• Skills include cardiac telemetry, central line care, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia interpretation, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Complete compliance requirements by 12 noon EST on Wednesday prior to start date
• Non-billable modules averaging 2-4 hours completed during orientation

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in cardiac and respiratory care. The unit maintains a daily census of 30 patients and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services. The facility utilizes Epic charting system and maintains high standards for patient care with robust support services and modern equipment for cardiac monitoring and respiratory management.
