RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• 13-26 week contract duration
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract
• Floating within facility required as needed
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• 24 hours of unit orientation plus hospital orientation during week one
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Navy/white scrubs required
• 2 years of nursing experience required, accepts first-time travelers
• BCLS certification required
• Must be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events
• Care for patients with diabetes, dementia, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, hip fractures, CHF, UTI, surgical recovery cases, renal failure, hypertension, cellulitis
• Skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV insulin protocols, colostomy care, feeding tube management, hemodialysis management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, wound care, isolation precautions
• Work with Pyxis medication system, Epic documentation, and SBAR communication
• Must complete lab testing within 48 hours after signing and non-billable modules (2-10 hours expected)

The facility maintains a 43-bed medical-surgical unit with a daily census of 39 patients, offering extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services.
