RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 3x12 schedule with every other weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:6 on all shifts
• Float required to Telemetry and Medical Surgical units as needed (these units have 1:5/1:6 ratios)
• No call required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, chest tubes, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drips, PCA, telemetry monitoring, peripheral line care, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Care for adult patients with diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, COPD/asthma, sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD/dialysis, hypertension/hypotension, ETOH withdrawal, and general surgery patients
• Perform procedures including chest tubes, PCA infusions, bedside monitoring, non-titratable drips, and IV infusions
• Work with bedside monitoring equipment for up to 8 patients, ultrasound IV, cardiac monitoring, and lift equipment
• No RTO permitted during first two weeks of assignment
• Must have Maryland license or compact license at time of submission

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 15-bed Intermediate Care unit providing specialized care for patients requiring closer monitoring than general medical units but less intensive than ICU level care.
