RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3 x 12-hour shifts for 36 hours per week
• 6 weekend shifts required per every 6-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:4 flexing up to 1:5 as needed
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with surgical trauma requiring progressive care
• Work with patients experiencing traumatic injuries from gunshot wounds, penetrating injuries, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, and falls
• Unit equipped with telemetry monitoring for up to 14 patients
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and telemetry certification
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required (2+ years for first-time travelers)
• Epic EMR experience required (minimum 1 year)
• Medication test required upon hire
• Must complete pre-assignment testing and modules within 48 hours
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• May be required to float to other units within the health system as needed
• Skills include accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, wound care, and telemetry monitoring
• Orientation occurs every Monday

The unit provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. The facility maintains high standards for trauma care and utilizes advanced telemetry monitoring systems to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
