Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 0.9 FTE day shift position
• Maintain 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Float between departments and local locations within 20 miles as required
• Work weekends as needed
• On-call and call-back responsibilities as needed
• Charge experience preferred but not required
• Must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test prior to starting assignment
• One opportunity to retest if initial BCA test is failed; second failure results in contract cancellation
• Provide direct patient care using nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols
• Provide clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Care for medically complex patients in low turnover unit awaiting community placement
• Recognize escalating and deteriorating patient conditions in setting without direct ICU escalation path
• Two years current experience required in 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit
• Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Required certifications: New Mexico or Compact State nursing license, BLS, ACLS
• BLS and ACLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• NIHSS certification preferred
