Opportunity:

Radiology Interventional Technologist - Radiology Interventional Technologist

Job Details:

• Work under the direction of a Radiologist to perform invasive procedures for pathological evaluation
• 2 years of interventional radiology procedural experience with hands-on scrubbing in procedures required
• Overtime after 48 hours
• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations
• Obtain additional patient medical history information as necessary
• Prepare contrast medium, medications, and IV solutions for patient administration
• Review clinical data, analyze patient anatomy, and set up equipment following protocols
• Assist Radiologist in performing complex diagnostic invasive procedures
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment
• Ensure adequate supplies (needles, catheters, etc.) are available and properly stored
• Actively assess patient condition before, during, and after all procedures
• Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information
• Demonstrate radiation protection principles including patient shielding and ALARA techniques
• Complete PACS imaging procedures and resolve image exceptions
• Complete study indexing in Radiology Information System (RIS)
• Perform quality assurance procedures and maintain medical record documentation
• Experience with IR lab, scrub role, emergent cases, embolization, and neuro intervention preferred
• Familiarity with Siemens equipment and CT spin knowledge preferred
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
• Healthcare Provider certification (BLS) required
• ARRT registration with advanced registry in Cardiac-Interventional (CI), Vascular-Interventional (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CV) Radiography required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Must maintain required continuing medical education hours
