Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available

Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist

Job Details:

• Administer safe and accurate radiation therapy treatments to patients
• Ensure accurate treatment delivery and data capture with sound clinical judgment
• Gather necessary set-up aids and prepare room and equipment for patient treatments
• Operate and manipulate complex radiation-emitting treatment units requiring manual dexterity and psychomotor skills
• Work under stress and pressure while adapting to changes in work schedule or assigned areas
• Visually monitor patients for unusual reactions and report to radiation oncologist
• Maintain appropriate treatment and simulation records and data
• Comply with departmental quality assurance practices
• Verify consent forms are signed before administering treatments
• Monitor and maintain daily treatment records and machine QA
• Complete clinical on-call new starts including necessary calculations
• Perform clinical template of electron fields
• Immobilize prostate and rectum using endorectal balloon with gas release techniques
• Deliver radiation to breasts using free breathing multi-isocenter setup techniques
• Complete 6-month rotation in CT Simulation
• Produce custom bolus devices for prescribed treatments
• Simulate various treatment sites including CNS, Head and Neck, Lung, GI, GU, GYN, and Extremity
• Must be graduate of JRCERT-accredited program in radiation therapy
• Must be certified and registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy
• Must be certified and licensed by New Mexico Environment Department's Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program within 30 days of hire
• English proficiency required (speak, read, write)
