RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio: 1:4, with 1:5 being a stretch
• Charge nurse available every shift and does not take patients
• Minimum 2 years experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit required
• Previous experience working in Critical Access Hospital required
• BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
• Experience with Meditech Expanse computer charting required
• May float to ED but only function as task nurse
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs required
• Orientation consists of three days classroom training and one preceptor shift held every Wednesday
• Use Alaris pumps and central telemetry monitoring with two portable tele monitors
• Must have own reliable transportation as area does not have Uber or Lyft services

Facility:

This critical access hospital features a 25-bed telemetry unit on the second floor with 23 regular beds and 2 Medical Decision Unit beds. The facility specializes in caring for patients with COPD exacerbations, CHF, and operates a swing bed program with average stays of 12 days for patients requiring amputations, wound care, and long-term antibiotics. The hospital maintains excellent support services including 24/7 lab services, in-house pharmacy until 11:00 PM Monday-Friday with remote pharmacist coverage, comprehensive therapy services, social services, and case management support.
