RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:4, with 1:5 being a stretch during peak times
• Minimum 2 years experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit required
• Previous experience working in Critical Access Hospital required
• Must have experience with Meditech Expanse computer charting
• BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) required, PALS preferred
• May float to Emergency Department but only function as task nurse
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• Four-day orientation consisting of three classroom days and one preceptor shift
• Work with Alaris pumps and central telemetry monitoring
• Care for patients with COPD exacerbations, CHF, swing bed patients, wound care, and long-term antibiotic needs
• Handle some postpartum and pediatric patients
• Charge nurse available on every shift without patient assignment
• Support staff includes 1-2 nurse aides or unit clerks per shift
• Must have reliable transportation as area does not have Uber or Lyft services

Facility:

This critical access hospital operates a 25-bed telemetry unit with 23 regular beds and 2 Medical Decision Unit beds. The facility emphasizes swing bed services with an average stay of 12 days, keeping patients local for specialized care including amputations, wound care, and long-term antibiotic treatments. The hospital provides comprehensive support services including 24/7 lab services, in-house pharmacy until 11 PM Monday through Friday, excellent therapy services with multiple daily patient visits, and three case managers with social services available on the floor.
