Opportunity:

Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician

Job Details:

• Perform a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative
• Operate nuclear medicine instrumentation including gamma cameras (both planar and SPECT), PET, radiation detectors/counters, and dose calibrators
• Inject and administer radiopharmaceuticals with proper assaying and calculation of volume and activity concentrations
• Position patients on equipment per protocol and monitor patients during procedures
• Perform intravenous (IV) access with appropriate site selection and aseptic techniques
• Conduct quality control procedures for all nuclear medicine equipment
• Handle laboratory procedures including measurement, manipulation, and preparation of radiopharmaceutical kits
• Follow radiation safety regulations and procedures, applying ALARA techniques including time, distance, and shielding
• Maintain knowledge of Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) guidelines for handling radioactive materials
• 2+ years of Nuclear Med Tech experience required
• Knowledge of Radiology Information System (RIS) and HIS preferred
• Required certifications: ARRT (N) or CNMT, BLS (AHA)
• No on-call responsibilities
• No weekend requirements
• Must live outside 50-mile radius of facility
