Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing professional nursing knowledge and skills in patient care
• Apply nursing process in the provision and management of care to patients
• Work every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation when scheduled
• NBO (needs based overtime) available at 16 hours
• Must be willing to float to NICU when needed - will receive "feeders and growers" patients
• May also float to ED patient holds
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Years, or Thanksgiving)
• Limited day requests off between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26
• Work with EPIC EMR system
• 2+ years of current PICU experience required
• Required certifications: PALS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Iowa nursing license required
• Care for critically-ill or injured infants, children and teens
• Work in 12-bed, all private-room facility staffed by pediatric critical care doctors

Facility:

This healthcare facility features a state-of-the-art 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with all private rooms, located on the second floor. The facility opened a new PICU in March 2017 designed to enhance patient care with single patient rooms that include lots of storage space, private bathrooms and showers. The unit includes a Family Consultation Room for healthcare team meetings, a Family Lounge with kitchenette and comfortable seating, and patient rooms equipped with pull-out beds, reclining chairs, privacy curtains, two televisions and individual sound systems. The facility also operates a Pediatric Transport Team that provides critical care expertise throughout the state.
