Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team contributing professional nursing knowledge and skills
• Provide and manage care to patients through application of the nursing process
• Work every other weekend including holiday rotation
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Years, or Thanksgiving)
• Limited to 1 day request off between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26
• Maintain 1:5 patient ratios on 28-bed unit
• Read telemetry strips and manage cardiac drips including heparin, insulin, amiodarone, and cardizem
• Care for post-operative surgical patients including general, thoracic, vascular, urology, gynecology, orthopedic, and podiatry cases
• Work with PCAs, epidurals, chest tubes, and CBIs
• May float across other similar med surg units including behavioral health and emergency department
• Use EPIC electronic medical record system
• Work with state-of-the-art bedside monitors in every patient room
• 2 years current med surg, PACU, and/or post-operative care experience in hospital setting required
• Telemetry strip reading experience required
• Must have completed a travel contract within previous 12 months
• BLS certification required
• Iowa nursing license required
• Minimum 50 mile radius from facility required
