Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients in medical surgical telemetry unit
• May be asked to work as backup Charge Nurse
• Participate in patient and family teaching
• Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and patient team personnel
• Maintain standards for professional nursing practice in clinical setting
• Work with Cerner EMR system
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1 to 4/5 patients
• Average daily patient census of 22 patients
• May float between Acute Rehab and Med Surg units
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required as needed
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• 2 years recent Med Surg/Rehab experience required
• Charge RN experience required
• Previous travel experience (at least 3 months) required
• BSN preferred
• Must have own vehicle - firm requirement due to lack of public transportation
• Local travelers within 50 miles not eligible
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• Vermont nursing license required
• Strict 3 strike rule for call offs enforced - contract eligible for termination after 3 call offs
• Call offs must be communicated to unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours in advance
• Maximum 5 days of requested time off accepted (less preferred)
• All scheduling requests must be made at time of submission
