Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing professional nursing knowledge and skills
• Apply the nursing process in the provision and management of patient care
• 30-bed unit specializing in medical surgical and post-operative/spine patients
• Handle heparin drips and other medical surgical procedures
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6
• Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran
• Every other weekend schedule including holiday rotation
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Years, or Thanksgiving)
• Limited time off requests between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26
• Minimum 16 hours guaranteed per week
• EMR system: EPIC
• Dress code: Navy blue solid scrubs
• 2+ years medical surgical experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment in previous 12 months
• Post-operative surgical experience strongly encouraged
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Iowa nursing license required
• Direct clinical screening via phone call from 405 area code
