Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation when scheduled
• Must be willing to float to NICU and ED patient holds as needed
• When floating to NICU, will care for "feeders and growers" - babies on oxygen or antibiotics, not the sickest patients
• 24 months minimum of PICU/Pediatric Intensive Care experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Required certifications: PALS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
• Care for critically-ill or injured infants, children and teens
• Work in 12-bed, all private-room facility with state-of-the-art equipment
• Skills checklist specific to PICU/Pediatric Intensive Care required
• Professional reference from charge/supervisor/nurse manager within 24 months preferred

The PICU is staffed by pediatric critical care doctors and includes state-of-the-art design with equipment easily accessible from ceiling booms. The facility offers comprehensive amenities including family consultation rooms, family lounges with kitchenettes, and patient rooms equipped with pull-out beds, reclining chairs, dual televisions, and individual sound systems. The facility also operates a Pediatric Transport Team that provides critical care expertise throughout the state.
