Job Details:

• 2+ years of current operating room experience required
• Circulating and operating room experience required
• Strong proficiency in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures required
• General surgery experience required if not assigned to cardiac cases
• Experience with daVinci robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular procedures highly preferred
• EPIC electronic medical systems experience within previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
• Must have completed a travel assignment within previous 12 months
• Scrub experience needed including open heart scrubbing highly preferred
• Both scrubbing and circulating roles preferred
• Patient ratio of 1:1 with average 35-50 cases per day
• Expectation for turnovers is less than 20 minutes
• On-call requirements: up to 2 overnight shifts per week and 4 weekends per 13-week contract
• Weekend call schedule runs from Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 6:30 AM
• Required to float across all campuses
• Scrubs provided
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Iowa nursing license required

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates as a Level I trauma center with 16 operating rooms, routinely running 12-14 suites daily while reserving space for trauma cases. The facility features advanced technology including 3 daVinci robots and Stealth technology for neuro navigation, primarily using Synthes or Stryker equipment for orthopedic trauma. Service lines include cardiac/peripheral vascular, neurology, orthopedics, robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, transplants, with smaller volumes of ENT and plastic procedures.
