RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• 16-hour shifts with guaranteed hours
• Work up to 1 overnight per week and 3 weekends per 13-week contract
• Weekend call schedule runs Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 6:30 AM
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
• Float across all campuses within the health system
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratios in 16-bed OR unit
• Handle average of 35-50 cases per day with turnover expectations of less than 20 minutes
• Both scrub and circulating experience required
• Work with specialized equipment including 3 DaVinci robots and Stealth technology for neuro navigation
• Scrubs provided by facility
• 24 months of current operating room experience required
• Experience required in general, DaVinci robotics, pediatrics, and trauma cases
• Trauma Level II experience required, Level I experience highly preferred
• EPIC electronic medical systems experience within previous 3 years required
• Must have completed a travel assignment within previous 15 months
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required

Facility:

This Level 1 trauma center operates 16 operating rooms, routinely running 12-14 suites while reserving space for trauma cases. The facility specializes in multiple service lines including cardiac/PV, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, and transplants, with smaller volumes of ENT and plastic procedures. The medical center features advanced technology and equipment to support complex surgical procedures and maintains high standards for patient care and surgical outcomes.
