RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in Progressive Care Unit with post-surgical and specialty patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 in a 25-bed unit
• Care for patients including post TNK, orthopedic, cranial-neurosurgery, laminectomies, and polytrauma cases
• Float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran
• May float to other medical surgical units as needed
• Weekend rotation typically every other or every 3rd weekend including holiday rotation
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
• 16-hour minimum commitment with no on-call responsibilities
• Experience with drips and titrations including heparin drips, PCAs, and 3% sodium
• Work with specialized equipment including lift equipment, telemetry, chest tubes, and airvo
• Must have 24 months of stepdown, progressive care, or medical surgical experience
• Required experience in neurology, orthopedic, and trauma care
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within previous 12 months
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS (can be obtained during onboarding)
• Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
