RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work as scheduled with weekend coverage requirements
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
• Float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran
• 16 hour shifts with patient ratio of 1:1
• Work in 16 OR suites with 12-14 routinely running
• Handle average of 35-50 cases per day with expectation for turnovers less than 20 minutes
• Both scrubbing and circulating experience preferred
• Work with various service lines including Cardiac/PV, Neuro, ortho (primarily trauma), robotics, gyn, uro, general, pediatrics, transplants, ENT and plastic procedures
• Utilize special equipment including 3 DaVinci robots, Stealth technology for Neuro navigation, and primarily Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma
• Weekend call coverage from end of shift Friday until 6:30 AM Monday
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Must have 24 months of current operating room experience required
• Circulating/operating room experience required
• Scrub experience highly preferred
• Experience in General, DaVinci Robotics, Pediatrics and Trauma cases required
• EPIC electronic medical systems experience within previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred, Level II required
• No first time travelers - must have completed travel assignment within previous 15 months
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Iowa nursing license required
