RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• 16-hour shifts with guaranteed hours per week
• Up to 1 overnight call per week and 4 weekend calls per 13-week contract
• Weekend call schedule runs Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 6:30 AM
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
• Float across multiple campuses including Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran
• Both scrubbing and circulating responsibilities preferred
• Patient ratio of 1:1 with 16-bed unit
• Average 35-50 cases per day with turnover expectations under 20 minutes
• Work with 16 OR suites, typically running 12-14 routinely
• Handle cardiac/PV, neuro, ortho trauma, robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, and transplant cases
• Use specialized equipment including 3 DaVinci robots and Stealth technology for neuro navigation
• 2-3 week orientation in general OR followed by 2 weeks in vascular, then cardiac cases
• Minimum 24 months current operating room/CVOR experience required
• 80% cardiac cases/20% general cases experience required
• Open heart scrubbing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience within previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred, Level II required
• Must have completed travel assignment within previous 12 months
• Iowa nursing license required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Scrubs provided
