Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist

Job Details:

• Day shift with flexible hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Part-time position with specific required dates throughout summer and fall
• Required work dates: June 25 - July 10, August 6, 7, & 14, August 24 - September 4, September 8 - September 11
• Three years of full-time radiation therapy experience required
• Associate's degree or equivalent required
• New York state license to practice as radiation therapist required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Deliver radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by radiation oncologists
• Perform simulation and localization of treatment areas
• Monitor and perform patient treatments ensuring accuracy and adherence to treatment plans
• Maintain and document treatment records and summaries
• Educate and counsel patients on treatment procedures and provide emotional support
• Produce x-ray films for verification of treatment areas
• Perform equipment safety checks and inspections
• Knowledge of radiation therapy technology practices and treatment planning systems required
• Familiarity with Linear Accelerators, simulators, and multi-leaf collimators required
• Physical requirements include frequent use of hands, regular standing/walking/sitting, and lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally
