RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract assignment
• No on-call requirements
• Patient ratios typically 1:2, sometimes 1:1 for critical patients
• Alternating weekend schedule
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Preferred certifications: Trauma credentials (TNCC, CATN, TCAR)
• Post-operative cardiac surgery experience preferred
• Navy scrub color required
• Work with advanced equipment including IABP, Impella, ventilators, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, SLED/TABLO machines, and Belmont rapid infuser
• Use Meditech EMR system
• Perform procedures including rapid sequence intubation, post-CABG and valve replacement care, thrombectomies, EVD insertions, cardioversion, and TNK administration
• Manage vasopressors and IV sedation
• Must be adaptable, take constructive criticism well, and serve as a patient safety advocate

Facility:

This medical center features a 22-bed intensive care unit located on the second floor, staffed by approximately 60 healthcare professionals. The ICU specializes in critical care with advanced cardiac and trauma services, maintaining excellent safety standards including recognition as the only inpatient unit with no falls in the most recent quarter. The unit has received multiple awards including team Daisy awards and best throughput awards, reflecting their commitment to exceptional patient care and teamwork.
