RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts between 6:00-7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (variable start times)
• 80% pre/post operative care and 20% PACU responsibilities
• Call requirement: 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM at least 1 shift per week
• Weekend call: 1 shift per 4 weeks (call is split between staff)
• No floating required
• Must be greater than 50 miles from facility
• Required licenses and certifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• 23-bed unit with variable patient ratios
• Any solid color scrubs required
• Electronic Medical Record: Med Host and paper documentation
• Start IVs for same day surgery patients
• Perform basic admission assessments for same day surgery patients
• Work with Type I/Type II diabetic patients and perform medication reconciliation
• Provide clinically sound discharge teaching for endocrine patients
• Work in fast-paced Stage II environment
• Majority of patients are outpatient
• Provide post-anesthesia care utilizing nursing process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and hospital policies
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical staff, and other personnel
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment for safe patient care delivery
• Delegate patient care priorities and provide supervision of assigned personnel
