RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedics Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement preferred
• Patient ratios of 1:5 during days and 1:6 during nights
• Work on a 48-bed unit with average census of 27 patients
• Float to similar Med Surg Tele units (D1, F2) when needed
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds on day shift Monday-Friday from 10:30-11:15 AM
• Must have Med/Surg Telemetry skillset including head-to-toe assessments and orthopedic care knowledge
• Perform IV medication administration including management of Lasix drip, heparin drip, IVP metoprolol, diltiazem, and insulin IV or subcutaneous
• Provide wound care including drain management and VACs
• Manage NGT/G tube care and parenteral nutrition
• Handle central line management including PICC, HD catheter, and midlines
• Provide foley, nephrostomy, and suprapubic catheter care
• Perform ostomy care and postoperative patient care
• Perform NGT procedures as needed
• Work with equipment including Hoyer lift, automated BP machines, bladder scanner, remote telemetry monitoring, and vein finder
• Use Altera/Allscripts Sunrise documentation system
• Required certifications: RN License, ACLS, BLS
• Dress code requires scrubs and closed-toe shoes (no crocs)
• Unit support includes 1 unit secretary from 7 AM-11 PM and PCTs with 1:10-15 ratio
