RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on 25-bed medical surgical unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Required to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
• Float over core staff as needed
• Perform basic patient assessments and general care
• Manage wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tubes
• Care for patients requiring dialysis or PCA pumps
• Administer Heparin drips
• Handle post-operative procedures including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, and wound vacs
• Utilize basic equipment including Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
• Document using Meditech system
• Provide bedside shift reports and perform safety checks every 1-2 hours
• Follow 100% medication scanning protocol including controlled substances
• Maintain HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring
• Implement fall prevention measures
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Dress code: Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue scrubs
• Treated as core staff with same level of accountability and recognition
