RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Full-time position available
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call responsibilities
• Potential floating to other units
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
• Must have 1-2 years of nursing experience and at least 6 months of telemetry experience
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA
• RN license in Louisiana or compact state required
• Attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire
• Complete preceptorship with designated trained staff member
• Complete organizational entry competency validation and MedSurg specific competency validation
• Maintain annual competency verification requirements
• Provide nursing care for cardiac and telemetry patients (not a step-down unit)
• Utilize nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Provide patient and family education and identify resources
• Temporary to permanent position possibility available
