RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a 16-bed emergency department with 8 hall chairs
• Patient ratios of 1:4 for low acuity ESI 4 & 5 patients, may take up to 6 patients
• Day shift: Work with 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4-5 floor nurses (one mid-shift), 1 unit secretary, and 1-2 techs
• Night shift: Work with 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4-5 floor nurses (one mid-shift), unit secretary from 7pm-midnight, and 1 tech
• Mandatory shift huddles at 7am and 7pm unless providing critical care
• EMTALA training required
• Must have Level II or Level III trauma experience
• Required certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS
• Preferred certifications: CEN or TCRN, CPI
• Greater than two years of emergency department experience preferred
• Perform assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV insertion, urine collection, lab draws, and care for ESI 5 through 1 patients
• Work with cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, tonopen, and other emergency equipment
• Use Meditech EMR system with vital signs flowing into chart
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs preferred, team spirit jerseys allowed on Sundays
• Compassion, urgency, and teamwork skills essential
