Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work rotating day and night shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 3x12 hour shifts per week
• 2 out of every 6 weekends required
• Holiday requirements with consideration for requested time off if given in advance
• No call requirements with overtime opportunities available
• First to float based on staffing needs and skill set
• May float to medical surgical unit for procedures/codes or provide 1:1 support for behavioral patients
• Any color scrubs permitted
• 2 days minimum unit-specific orientation required
• 2 years of experience required with travel experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: NRP, TNCC
• Must be able to mix own medications and assist with respiratory medications/equipment/intubation
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:4 for stable patients, 1:1 or 1:2 for critically ill patients
• Treat 8-25 patients per day with diverse medical conditions including acute illness, trauma, neurological emergencies, psychiatric emergencies, and respiratory distress
• Work with common drips including insulin, heparin, levophed, cardizem, amiodarone, and propofol
• Fast-paced environment requiring critical thinking skills, effective communication, adaptability, and clinical competence

Facility:

This critical access hospital features a 6-bed emergency department that provides comprehensive emergency care to the community. The facility offers full radiology services including X-ray, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound adjacent to the emergency department. The hospital maintains 24/7 physician or mid-level provider coverage with additional provider support from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. The facility is equipped with advanced respiratory equipment including BiPAP, ventilators, glidescope, heated high flow, and bubble CPAP, with respiratory therapy available in-house during day shifts and on-call 24/7.
