Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Scientist - Medical Lab Scientist

Job Details:

• Work 7 on/7 off schedule, Wednesday through Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM with flexibility and potential schedule changes
• Full-time position with temporary to permanent possibility
• No on-call requirements
• Perform routine and complicated laboratory procedures including specimen processing, testing, and result reporting
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Cross-train to other laboratory sections as needed
• Follow quality control program procedures and calculate/verify laboratory results
• Utilize Laboratory Information System for data management
• Process patient specimens with attention to minimal pediatric specimen volumes
• Participate in evaluation and implementation of new testing procedures
• May perform phlebotomy and other patient-oriented tasks
• Must possess certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS
• Louisiana state license required
• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science required
• Clinical laboratory experience required including rotations through Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids
