Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Scientist - Medical Lab Scientist

Job Details:

• Work day shift Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Full-time position performing routine and complex laboratory procedures
• Process and handle patient specimens with attention to minimal pediatric specimen volumes
• Perform testing of patient specimens and calculate/report results
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Cross-train to other laboratory sections as needed
• Follow quality control procedures and utilize Laboratory Information System
• Provide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values
• Participate in evaluation and implementation of new testing procedures and protocols
• May perform phlebotomy and other patient-oriented tasks
• Must possess certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS
• Louisiana state license required
• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology required
• No experience required for graduates of accredited clinical laboratory training programs
• One year of approved clinical laboratory experience required for non-graduates
• Must maintain current certification if expiration date applies
