RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on 4th and 5th floor medical surgical units with 60 total beds
• Patient ratios: 5:1 on Med Surg Specialty 4th Floor and 6:1 on Med Surg 5th Floor
• Must have telemetry and medical surgical experience
• Work with remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, and dynamaps
• Use Alterra (Allscripts) electronic medical record system
• Preferred skills include cardiac recognition, IV starts, and time management
• Typical procedures include abdominal surgeries (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy), diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, heart catheterizations
• Handle gastric sleeves, total hip/knee/shoulder replacements, and orthopedic trauma repairs
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHS
• Weekend shifts required with no on-call responsibilities
• Mandatory float as needed to inpatient rehab, ED, or PCU without assignments outside skill level
• Dress code: Currently black scrubs transitioning to Medical City Blue
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse per floor, RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and unit secretary when grid allows
• Night shift includes 1 charge nurse per floor, RNs, LVNs, and PCTs
