RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on scientific nursing principles
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare and administer medications orally, subcutaneously, IV and IM, and record prescribed medications
• Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with facility policy
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and record patients' medical information and vital signs
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients and interpret electronic displays
• Initiate corrective action when patients display adverse symptoms
• Provide bedside care for medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients
• Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physician
• Teach patients and families how to manage their illness/injury and post-treatment home care needs
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during examination and treatment
• Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol
• Participate in discharge planning and utilize time management skills
• Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely in appropriate format
• Must have ACLS & BLS certification through American Heart Association
• Must have 2 years recent Med/Surg experience in hospital setting
• Must have Alabama RN or multi-state RN license
• Must may be required to float to other units
