RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Multiple shifts available with 4 positions open
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• No on-call or floating requirements
• Nurse to patient ratio: 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients
• Care for patients with DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, ventilators in mixed cardiac and medical ICU setting
• Required certifications: Current Louisiana RN license or current Compact state license, BLS certification from AHA, ACLS certification from AHA
• One year of Critical Care experience preferred but will accept new graduates
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire
• Precepted by designated trained staff member with competency validation requirements
• Provide routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members and caregivers
• Temp to perm opportunity available
