Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract assignment
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Must be experienced in pre/post cardiac catheterization lab and electrophysiology procedures, PACU recovery, and cardiac surgery admissions
• 2 years of experience in specialty required
• One completed travel assignment required - no new travelers
• Required certifications: Indiana Single State RN License, AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting required, CUPID experience highly preferred
• Must pass telemetry interpretation tests
• Float to other cardiac, stepdown, or telemetry units at least once per week
• May float between multiple hospital locations but cross-campus mid-shift floating is rare
• Manage 4-5:1 patient ratio on night shift
• Care for 31-bed unit with pre/post procedure patients, cardiac surgery admissions, and observation patients
• Required skills include IV insertion, radial artery sheath removal, TR bands, arterial line management, cardiac drip titration, cardioversions, and telemetry/12-lead EKG interpretation
• Must be proficient in pre/post heart catheterization care, heparin initiation and titration, and cardiac medication administration
• Dress code: Red scrub top and black scrub bottoms with no competing health system or agency logos
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
• Attendance policy: 3 call-ins may result in termination
