Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg; Additional Notes from VMS= Neuro Surgical - Days - Deaconess Gateway

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48-hour contracts accepted upon request)
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 during day shifts
• Care for neuro and neuro-surgical patients including CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, post-op cranial procedures, and cerebral angiograms
• Float requirement as first to float within skillset to Deaconess Midtown campus (8 miles) and potential to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• Weekend requirement of three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Holiday requirement of every other holiday
• Required certifications: Active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum two years of strong neuro experience, one travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Essential skills include NIHSS/dysphagia screening, strong neuro assessments, basic telemetry interpretation, heparin drip initiation/titration, blood product administration, NG tube management, and indwelling drain management
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs with no competing health system or agency logos
• Strict attendance policy with three call-ins potentially resulting in termination
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
• No blocked schedule requests accepted
