Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• 13-week contract assignment
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Midtown campus (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross campus float, mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Work three weekends out of every six-week schedule and every other holiday
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4 on night shift
• Care for 16-bed stepdown unit with cardiac patients (post cath stents/interventions, pacers), CIWA/behavioral health, sepsis, DKA, CVA patients
• Manage patients requiring CPAP, feeding tubes, post-craniotomy day 2, GI bleeds, hypothermic/bear hugger protocols
• Required certifications: Active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
• Must have 2 years RN experience, 1 full year stepdown experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Required skills: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (must pass tele tests), initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, insulin), post-surgical assessment/care, NIHSS/neuro assessments/dysphagia screening
• Preferred skills: Stable home vents, PleurX drain/pericardial drains, lumber drains, VP shunts, Narcan drips
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs with no competing health system or agency logos
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
• Strict attendance policy: 3 call-ins can result in termination
