Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract length with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Midtown (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• Two hours notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratio: Days 1:4-5 patients (rarely 1:6)
• Care for complex Med/Surg/Tele patients including post cardiac caths, CVA/TIA, ICD patients, complex abdominal surgeries, oncology, and cranial surgery patients
• Required certifications: Current active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong Tele/Med/Surg experience required, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Must pass telemetry tests and demonstrate strong neuro assessment skills
• Required skills: NIHSS/dysphagia screening, 12-lead EKG interpretation, drip initiation/titration (insulin, cardiac, heparin), heart cath recovery
• Preferred skills: NG/PEG tubes, PIV insertion, chest tubes
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
• Three call-ins may result in termination
