Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week over 13-week contract
• 3:1 patient ratio during day shift
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• Float to other cardiac, stepdown, or tele units and may float between multiple hospital campuses
• Must have 2 years of specialty experience and 1 completed travel assignment
• Required certifications: Indiana Single State RN License, AHA BLS & ACLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience required, CUPID experience highly preferred
• Must be experienced in pre/post cath lab/EP procedures, PACU recovery, and cardiac surgery admissions
• Required skills: IV insertion, radial artery sheath removal, TR bands, arterial line management, manage/titrate cardiac drips, cardioversions, tele/12-lead EKG interpretation
• Must pass telemetry tests and demonstrate competency in cardiac monitoring
• Experience with TAVR/LAAO recoveries, antiarrhythmics, and cardiac observation patients required
• Manage trending troponins and initiate/titrate medications including Heparin and cardiac drips
• Work with 31-bed cardiac stepdown unit handling admissions and procedure recoveries
• Dress code: Red scrub top, black scrub bottoms with no competing health system logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• 40-mile radius rule applies - no local candidates accepted
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
